Childminder Training Course

This course includes the content of both the Antenatal CPR and First Aid for Children courses. In addition, it includes child safety; environmental safety and hygiene; managing an emergency; and the recognition, observation and management of a sick child or infant. Due to the volume of information taught to the Childminders, the course is held over two days.

The Childminder Training Course curricula:

. CPR for children and infants
. Child safety and how to respond to a near drowning
. How to respond to breathing problems (including choking)
. Allergic reactions
. Seizures (including febrile seizures)
. Shock
. Bleeding and wounds
. Nose bleeds
. Tooth injury
. Head injuries
. Care of broken limbs
. Sprains and bruises
. Burns and electrocution
. Eye injuries
. Bites and stings
. Poisoning
. Managing an emergency situation
. Environmental safety and hygiene
. Recognition, Observation and Management of a sick child or infant, including common childhood illnesses.

In order to facilitate the learning process, we allow a maximum of 6 Childminders per course

Upon course completion, Childminders are awarded a certificate and a course completion card from the South African Resuscitation Council.

Training Session: 8h00 (08:30 – 16:30)
Cost: R980 incl VAT per person

Manual, materials and keyring pouch with resuscitation barrier device and gloves, included

This course will afford members 2500 points on the Discovery Vitality Points system
